First Birthday Cake Smash Photographer in Kansas City

First Birthday Cake Smash Photography

Are you the parent of a baby who is about to turn one? If so, congratulations! It's an exciting time and there are lots of things to look forward to. One of those things is undoubtedly your baby's first birthday cake smash photography session. Planning ahead is key for ensuring that everything goes smoothly on the day of the shoot and that you get the beautiful cake smash photos that you're hoping for. Here are a few tips to help you plan your first birthday cake smash photography session:

1. Book your cake smash photo session in advance.

Many things go into planning a cakes smash photography session here at Dreamworks Photography. We plan the theme with you and then order all the balloons and decorating supplies as well as a cake, a matching outfit, custom name cake topper and keepsake wooden spoon.

2. Decide on the theme for your first birthday photoshoot.

For our First Birthday Cake Smash photography Sessions, we like baby and first birthday to be primary and then we sprinkle in your theme. As many trends tend to come and go birthday balloons are always always in!

3. Let baby eat cake prior to your cake smash photography session.

Give baby a sample of cake, eggs, frosting prior to the session. We don't want to find out baby is allergic to eggs during his/her cake smash photoshoot.

4. Bring baby's favorite snack to your cake smash photo session.

Babies don't always love cake, we do have a couple tricks up our sleeve. Bring a small snack baby is familiar with and enjoys.

5. Make sure baby is well rested before their first birthday cake smash photography session.

Don't skip nap time on the day of your cake smash photo session. Book your photography session at a good awake time for baby.
